Community outreach

As a parish and as a Cathedral church, we are committed to service and to deep involvement in our community. St. John’s has a long history of effective and creative reponse to the needs around us. Volunteer opportunities are varied and rich. Being situated in the heart of downtown Jacksonville invites us to remember our Lord’s words, “In as much as you did this to the least of these, you did it to me.” The following opportunities are a partial list of areas of Outreach Ministry supported by Cathedral members:

• Health, social action and economic justice
• Elder care
• Prison ministry
• Global missions
