Support Online Communications and Ministries!
The Jesse Ball duPont Fund will match your donation
now through December 31.
Dear Cathedral Family,
A great opportunity has come to us! The Jesse Ball duPont Fund has offered us a match challenge. They will match dollar for dollar in an online digital campaign to fund our communications program for 2021. Just think, every gift will be doubled up to $25K,
giving us the opportunity to raise up to $50K!
We are grateful to have a congregation of such faithful and generous people. But many of our members have had to decrease their pledges for 2021 due to the economic impact of COVID. This match program could help us close that gap!
Here are the details...
Donations must be made online; donations made by check and in cash will not count.
Donations must be made between November 1 and December 31, 2020.
Donations must be made by individuals (not corporations).
The matching is capped at $500 per transaction. There is no limit to the number of transactions that an individual can make.
By donating you will help us continue to improve our livestreaming capabilities, facilitate our online community in Realm, and expand our online programs by increasing our Zoom capacity.
God bless you all!
*Please note this must be a donation, not a pledge.
Since March and the beginning of pandemic season, my job as Director of Formation and Spirituality at St. John's Cathedral has involved coordinating online classes, small groups, fellowship groups and spiritual direction.
There are so many advantages to this kind of delivery of classes and worship. Most especially that people have been able to participate from wherever they are. We have groups that meet every day “for coffee” at 7 am with one in Canada, one in North Carolina and the others in Jacksonville. We have a weekly bible study with people from the same places. Our Sunday morning offerings have an average of 13 people, again from all over North America, finishing up about 9:55 and then switching to the online virtual service at 10:00. One of the most extraordinary offerings is the Evensong at St. Andrew’s in Holt England which five or so Cathedral members participate in on a regular basis. (See picture below)
In one sentence: The Formation and Spirituality program at ST. John’s Cathedral has never been so robust, and it has changed lives in a myriad of ways in this difficult time of pandemic.
-Owene Courtney, Director of Formation and Spirituality
"Kate makes the beginning of each day so special. I have shared her message with several friends who say they cannot imagine starting their day without her caring voice. She is my Mr. Rogers. " -Kathleen VonKoschembahr
"One thing that gives me inspiration is seeing Kate's smiling face first thing in the morning." - Claude Moulton
"My wife Joyce and I have enjoyed joining St. John's Cathedral for worship during this lockdown season. One silver lining to this time is that distance is irrelevant and we are able to join in from our home in suburban Cleveland." - Peter Igel
