Civil Discourse Forum April 17
St. John’s Cathedral is hosting a deliberative forum as part of a Jacksonville civil discourse endeavor, How Should We Convey the History of Jacksonville? Monuments, Parks, & People. St. John’s will host the 15th city forum, the outcomes of which will be included in a final report the Jessie Ball DuPont Fund will share with the Jacksonville City Council.
The event is also part of the National Week of Conversation sponsored by many national organizations including the National Institute for Civil Discourse, the National Issues Forums Institute and the Charles F. Kettering Foundation. The National Week of Conversation, April 20-28, 2018 is a week-long event where Americans from all walks of life have conversations that prioritize listening first to understand those we tend to think of as “the other.” In conversations—and the relationships they build—is the hope for mending the frayed fabric of America by bridging divides.
The Cathedral’s April 17th forum serves as a “jump start” for the National Week of Conversation. Please RSVP to [email protected] to register.
