First Monday Book Club will meet September 9
Next month, the Book Club will read The Way of Tea and Justice: Rescuing the World’s Favorite Beverage from Its Violent History by Becca Stevens. Be sure to stop by the Cathedral Bookstore and pick up your copy today.
When Becca opened the Thislte Stop Cafe, she began researching tea production and advocating for tea producers across the globe. Read what she discovered about the violent history surrounding the farming and distribution of tea, as well as the current status of the workers, predominantly women, who labor to provide us with a drink we love.
Rev. Becca Stevens is an Episcopal priest, chaplain at Vanderbilt University, and founder Thistle Farms, and its residential program, Magdalene.The author will be preaching at St. John's Cathedral Sunday, September 22. Reading her book is a great way to get to know her before her visit!
