Walking Through Holy Week
Dear People of God,
This strange pandemic-Lent is drawing to a close. Next week is Holy Week! We begin with Palm Sunday and Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, and he begins the descent from King to Crucified.
Holy Week is by far the most important season of the church year. In one week, we move from celebration to destruction and into new life. It is the essence of our faith, this miracle that God does the greatest work out of our failures. God’s redemption cannot be stopped even by injustice, death and torture. We cannot stop the good news, no matter how confused or broken we become. God’s love is just far more powerful than our worst qualities. And the Son of God will always rise.
More than ever, I believe that there is so much to gain from participation in the walk to the cross. Join us on Palm Sunday, we are offering both virtual and socially distant worship until the pandemic lifts. Carefully read our service schedule, as it is complex and multi-faceted. Choose where you feel called to worship and then join us. The miracle of Easter is best experienced when you have walked the way of the cross in Holy Week. How can we understand God’s love if we do not know what Jesus went through for us? The more you participate, the greater you will be blessed. I promise.
Walk with me now to Golgotha and beyond.
In Christ’s love,
Kate+
