Grateful Gatherings: A New Wednesday Night Program
As we get ready for fall, we are rebranding our Wednesday night programming. Wonderful Wednesdays will now be known as Grateful Gatherings. We envision Grateful Gatherings as a wonderful way for us to come together once a week, share a meal and meet with friends. We are inviting all small groups (prayer groups, knitting or sewing groups, Kindness Rocks painting groups, discipleship groups…you name it!) to reserve a room and meet in our beautiful space! Four Wednesday night classes will also be offered and are listed below.
Spaces available for reservation include the Dooly Library, Hakimian Nursery and Youth Room, Ingram Lounge, Mackoul-Klein Library, conversation areas on the mezzanine level of Taliaferro Hall and classrooms on the second floor of Cathedral House. We do have a house with many rooms. Let’s fill them on Wednesday nights with grateful hearts!
The evening will begin with a light supper of soup, salad and bread in Taliaferro Hall. Then, we will meet with our group or join one of the classes below.
- Jesus’ Provocative Stories: The Parables | Busey Conference Room & Zoom
- Yoga | Cummings Chapel
- The Art Class | Painting Room
- Cathedral 101 with Dean Kate | Ingram Lounge
Still not sure what qualifies as a group or gathering? Here are a few examples. If you knit for the Prayer Shawl Ministry, consider getting a group of knitters together and knitting on Wednesday night. If you’re in a discipleship group, talk to your group members and suggest meeting on Wednesday evening. Perhaps the Blessings in a Backpack group could meet on Wednesday evenings to pack the backpacks. Maybe you’d just like to get some friends together to paint Kindness Rocks one Wednesday a month, that’s fine too!
Grateful Gatherings begin September 8. To reserve a space, please call the Church Office (904) 356-5507. We will reserve a space for you; all you have to do is gather gratefully.
