Hike the Jacksonville Arboretum & Botanical Gardens
Let’s celebrate Earth Day by getting out and taking a hike! The Jacksonville Arboretum and Botanical Gardens have a number of trails with varying levels of difficulty. Called “the hidden jewel” in Northeast Florida, the Jacksonville Arboretum opened in November 2008 – covering 120 acres and featuring 13 distinct ecosystems. Each trail is measured in both distance and number of steps an average adult or child takes to complete the trail. A brochure with descriptions of each trail is attached.
You’re encouraged to bring your family and friends to this multi-generational event! Guides from the arboretum will be able to accommodate our group’s needs (i.e. tours for children and/or/adults). We are asking for a registration fee of $5 per individual or $10 per family or group. This money will be given to the arboretum as a donation from St. John’s Cathedral Green Spirits and is non-refundable.
There are picnic tables at the Arboretum, so if you want to pack a lunch, you are welcome to do so.
