Making Way for a New Nursery
Recently it came to our attention that St. John’s needed to move our infant nursery to the first floor to comply with city and fire codes.Presently, the nursery is in the basement of The Cathedral House.Of course, the children’s welfare is our primary concern, so brainstorming began.Where in the world could we possibly place our precious infant/toddlers, excellent nursery workers and everything needed to care for babies? The Properties Committee recommended, and the Vestry approved Ingram Lounge to be used as our temporary nursery until a brand-new nursery is completed in 2019.
Starting Sunday, September 9th our beautiful babies will be lovingly cared for in Ingram Lounge while their parents enjoy worship and fellowship during our Sunday services and Christian Formation. Our helpful sextons will move all necessary equipment up to Ingram Lounge early Sunday morning and return it to the old nursery after worship.
This temporary arrangement will impact our Parent’s Group, who regularly meet in Ingram at 10 a.m., but I’ll bet they won’t mind meeting temporarily in the Bernie Dooly Library in Room 301.
Thanks be to God for these children and their families!
Blessings,
