Ministry Spotlight: Children's Ministry
This summer Children’s Chapel boarded our Time Machine and blasted into eternity discovering Jesus from eternity past to eternity future. Pam Searcy, our much loved Children's Music Director, is teaching us new songs and dances, we have a short lesson and then a fun craft that ties in with the scripture we’re exploring. Later this month Chuck Womack is visiting to lead us in a children’s yoga session, we may even have a visit from Goliath himself next month when we explore some of the Bible’s “bad guys”...grab your slingshots! And Spoiler Alert...God always is victorious!
While we’re having so much summer fun, I’m also working on preparing for the fall. We presently have three Godly Play classes for ages 3-grade 3 and one Tweens class for 4th and 5th graders. Our team of Children’s Ministries volunteers is awesome! I would be lost as a ball in tall grass without Betty Ann Graves! Betty Ann has tirelessly devoted her time to our Godly Play program for so many years. Our teachers each Sunday morning ignite a desire for a genuine relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ in all children at St. John's and I would like to thank each one: Heather Lawson, Beth Erwin, Chris Collinsworth, Jay Henderlite, Janice Abdelnour, Tammie Corey, Jill Whipple, Corri Connally, Nicole Lashley and Lewis Hunt.
But we need more, we need YOU! I would like to ask each of you to please prayerfully consider volunteering 45 minutes once a month to teach our future at St. John’s...our children! Could your light be part of our torch that continues to ignite a love for our Savior Jesus Christ in our Little Flock? I’d love to chat with you. Please email me at [email protected] .
Blessings,
Terry Jamerson Hunt, Director of Children’s Ministries
