Reading Course: Into the Silent Land: A Guide to the Christian Practice of Contemplation by Martin Laird

Into the Silent Land will be a good introduction to those new or unfamiliar to contemplative spirituality and will also serve as an ongoing refresher for those who have already entered into this form of spirituality.
Martin Laird shows that the practice of meditation and contemplation in Christianity has a long and ancient history. He brings together wisdom from both the Christian East and West to deepen today’s believers understanding and faith.
This practicum will consist of three parts each Sunday, led by the Rev. Eric Kahl
- A review of the read chapters l
- A discussion of the assigned material
- A time of prayer – practicum – based on Martin’s book
