St. John's Connects Borden Dairy with St. Mary's Food Pantry
Martha Cox, member of SJC and Director of Grants & Research at Episcopal Children’s Services, was contacted by Borden Dairy, regarding the possibility of receiving a donation of a minimum of 80 gallons of milk to children in need in an ongoing relationship. Martha called Dean Kate Moorehead, who called Lynn Doiron, Outreach Council Chair. Lynn contacted Emily Waters, Food Pantry Manager and minister-in-residence at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. Their Food Pantry serves as many as 350 individuals and families each month with dry and canned goods, fresh bread, meat and produce. Emily was excited about the prospect of adding milk to that list! Now Emily has been connected with Edwin Diaz, a Sales Representative at Borden Dairy, who will implement the USDA-funded milk donations.
This is what happens when we all work together. Thanks be to God!
