St. Mary's Food Pantry Needs Your Donations
The parish of St. Mary's began as an outreach of this Cathedral. In the past, many of you have donated food and supplies every month to fill the shelves of their food pantry. Today your help is needed more than ever. "We appreciate your prayers, food items and financial support, said Mother Beth Tjoflat. "Know that you are doing God's work, as you lessen the suffering of others."
St. Mary's pantry has been designated as a community resource by United Way and is able to operate even as others have been forced to close. The pantry serves 400-500 people per week due to the pandemic. Many who come are seeking food assistance for the first time in their lives.
Needed items include: canned and dry goods: pastas and sauce; canned vegetables; canned soups; canned meat and tuna; personal hygiene products; and diapers (size 3-6).
Items can be dropped off between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 1924 N. Laura Street, Jacksonville, 32206.
For some a safer, more convenient option will be to make an online gift at stmarysjax.org or to send a check to the address in bold above.
