VETERANS' DAY 2018
One hundred years ago—on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month—World War I ended. Thanks to the treaty signed on November 11, 1918, this day is known as “Armistice Day.” St. John's Cathedral is joining people worldwide in remembering their family members who were affected by World War I. A few of their stories have been recorded and are featured below. We will also be tolling the bells at 11 a.m. along with churches throughout the city, the nation and the world as part of the Bells of Peace Armistice Day salute. If you aren't able to be at the 11 a.m. service, you can participate via an app "Bells of Peace" on your smartphone.
