Ye Olde Christmas Dinner This Wednesday
Christmas dinner is one of the biggest and most special meals of the year. It is a chance to enjoy a wonderful feast with family and loved ones. At St. John’s Cathedral we offer a special Christmas meal experience in the form of Ye Olde English Christmas dinner to enjoy with your parish loved ones.
This is a family affair with something special for all ages. Taliaferro will be adorned in Christmas garland, wreaths and candlelight, with a special evening of entertainment from our Celebration Singers and a Sing Along. There will be interactive tables for children and youth. In the English tradition, the fare will be prime rib with all the fixings. The evening begins with a Wassail Punch, a spicy apple cider, traditionally served hot in the winter months with hors d’oeuvres. The evening ends with a POP! as we snap open our Christmas Crackers and share the jokes and treasures inside.
Menu: Prime Rib, Herb Chicken, Potatoes with Garlic Butter, Candied Carrots, Mixed Vegetables, and Orange Panettone with Maple Whisky Bavarian Sauce.
Doors open at 5 p.m.
Dinner served at 6 p.m.
Space is filling up, so purchase your tickets today! Adult tickets are $15, children (12 & under) are $5. Tickets are sold after each service this morning.
This is a Christmas tradition that can be enjoyed by all and certainly should not be missed!
“The earth has grown old with its burden of care, but at Christmas it always is young. The heart of the jewel burns lustrous and fair and its soul full of music breaks the air, when the song of angels is sung.”
~ Phillips Brooks (1835-93), American Episcopal bishop who wrote "O Little Town of Bethlehem."
