The Apostles Window
April 22, 2024The Baptism Window
April 22, 2024Centering Prayer is a receptive method of silent prayer in which we experience God’s presence within us, closer than breathing, closer than thinking, closer than consciousness itself. This method of prayer is both a relationship with God and a discipline to foster that relationship.
Please join us on Monday mornings at 8 am for Centering Prayer. This offering will be only on zoom, and it will last for one hour. We will learn the process together by reading, breathing, chanting and sitting in silence. We will be using two books: Praying the Psalms by Nan Merrill and Open Heart, Open Mind by Thomas Keating, one of the principal architects and teachers of the Christian Contemplative movement. Both books are available in the Cathedral Bookstore or on Bookshop.org. There are several copies of Open Mind, Open Heart which can be borrowed from the Dooly Library at the Cathedral.
