Young Adult Ministry
Who Are We
Current is a group consisting of people who have completed high school and are either finishing or have finished college. We are young professionals who are looking to create a Christian community through shared faith and fellowship.
In 2017 the Vestry at St. John’s Cathedral decided that one of their strategic goals would be to invest in children, youth, and young adult ministry. In August of 2017 the young adult ministry met together for the first time.
The group began meeting at member’s homes weekly for dinner and Compline (evening prayer). After prayer we may do part of a study program, play a board game, or watch a movie. We have also gone on outings such as Dave and Busters, bowling, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando.
What We Do
We want to spread the Gospel of Jesus by welcoming members who seek to explore their faith and grow the kingdom of God, studying scripture and theology to better understand our faith, come together for praise and worship, and spread Christ’s love through acts of service and mission.
-Weekly meetings outside of Sunday worship
-Regular Sunday worship at one of the various parishes in the diocese.
-Discuss scripture/theology using various curriculum designed for adults.
-Attend/work team on Vocare weekends
-Volunteering both in Diocese and abroad.
-Day Trips and other outings.
We welcome all young adults age 20-35ish to any of our gatherings, events and retreats. Compline is held at member's homes or at restaurants each Monday from 6:30-9:30 PM every Monday. Outings are generally planned during the Compline meetings and will be announced through the Facebook group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/578647795805805/
