First Monday Book Club
On June 3, The Cathedral Book Store was the setting for the inaugural First Monday Book Club meeting. Grateful, by Diane Bass was the book selection. Fourteen book lovers enjoyed sharing their ideas about what it means to be grateful and through lively discussion concluded that being grateful connects us as individuals with others, and gratitude helps us be able to live more deeply on a personal level.
Holy Envy: Finding God in the Faith of Others by Barbara Brown Taylor is the selection for the July meeting (available for sale at the book store). Taylor recounts moving discoveries of finding the sacred in unexpected places while teaching the world’s religions to undergraduates in rural Georgia. She reveals how God delights in confounding our expectations.
Join the discussion of this thought - provoking book July 1, from 12-1pm at the Cathedral Book Store. Bring your lunch and a drink. Dessert will be provided by the bookstore. Please RSVP by email to [email protected] or call (904) 370-0076.
