As we journey through Eastertide, we explore how the Earth itself reveals the glory of God—and how we are called to live in relationship with the whole created order.
Each session includes a presentation or conversation, followed by a table discussion.

April 27 – The Two Trees in the Creation Stories
Presenter: The Very Rev. Kate Moorehead Carroll
Overview: A theological reflection on the Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge. What wisdom do these ancient symbols offer us today, and how do trees help us understand the nature of God? Listen to the recording.
🔹 May 4 – The Witness of St. Francis
Presenter: Joe O’Shields
Overview: St. Francis’ reverence for nature is just now beginning to be understood in its fullness. Listen to the recording.
🔹 May 11 – Climate Change, Poverty, and Health
Presenter: Dean Kate with Cheryl Holder, M.D.
Overview: Dr. Holder serves on the Florida Board of Trustees for The Nature Conservancy alongside JoAnn Tredennick, founder of Green Spirits at St. John’s. She draws on her experience as a physician, educator, and advocate to offer a compelling perspective on how climate change disproportionately affects vulnerable communities. Listen to the recording.

Presenter: Sarah Flint, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Fernandina Beach and JoAnn Tredennick/Nancy Purcell, Green Spirits St. John’s Cathedral
Overview: Sarah shares how her congregation has embraced environmental responsibility—from energy audits to outdoor worship and local partnerships. Green Spirits shares how St. John’s Cathedral is learning about, protecting, and renewing God’s earth and all its inhabitants. Listen to the recording.
