Pentecost Sunday
June 5, 2025You are invited to consider participating in EfM to….
Study, discuss, and deepen your faith.
Learn how to articulate your faith more clearly.
Allow that faith to inspire you to action.
EfM has two different tracks.
EfM: Classic is a four-year program of reading, study, discussion, prayer, and reflection. Year one focuses on the Old Testament; year two studies the New Testament; year three considers aspects of Christian history; and year four reflects on Christian ethics and spirituality.
EfM: Wide Angle is a new, one-year program that is “an introduction to all things EfM.” Both tracks meet in the same weekly seminar.
EfM features a weekly two-hour seminar, held virtually on Zoom, starting in September and running through late May or early June. Joe and Laura O’Shields, both certified EFM mentors, coordinate and facilitate seminar groups.
The EFM seminar group meets on Sunday afternoons, usually from 4 – 6 p.m. The fee for EfM, payable to The University of the South (an Episcopal university that developed and administers EfM), is $375, and participants must also purchase required texts. Laura and Joe love EFM and will be happy to answer any questions you may have—contact email is [email protected] .
