Parish Engagement
When the Holy Spirit led Buck and I to the Cathedral after the pandemic upended our lives, we felt a renewed sense of mission and purpose. St. John’s stands in Downtown Jacksonville with open arms, sharing its light and love with everyone who walks through the door. The clergy and members seek ways to shed that light into all corners of our community and society, embracing the philosophy that we are all brothers and sisters in Christ. This is more important than ever in our confusing, divided, hurting world, and I love being even a small part of this sacred mission.
Buck and I were privileged to serve as lay stewardship co-chairs two years ago, and I have found great joy working with Owene Courtney and Rev. Linda Privitera on the Cathedral Quarterly over the last year. If elected to serve on the vestry, I would be honored to help St. John’s Cathedral grow its vision of “building the kingdom of heaven here on earth,” as we love and learn from one another to become an even brighter beacon: Love at the Core!
