Marsha Hatcher: The Body Blessed
September 16, 2025Sunday, October 5 | 12:30–2:00 p.m. | St. John’s Cathedral
St. John’s Cathedral invites you and your beloved pets to our annual Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, October 5, at 12:30 p.m. Inside the Cathedral, pets of all kinds—dogs, cats, birds, turtles, and more—will receive a blessing in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals.
After the blessing, head outside to Cathedral Park for a lively Pet Festival with activities for the whole family:
- Meet the JSO Mounted Police & Canine Unit
 - Explore reptiles, turtles, and tortoises with Wild Wonders, Jacksonville’s only turtle rescue nonprofit
 - Visit with adoptable pets from local rescue groups, including F.U.R.
 - Capture the day with professional pet photos
 - Enjoy hot dogs, popcorn, and pet treats, courtesy of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew
 - Learn about affordable pet services with Posh Pets

This is a free community event open to all. Bring your pets (on leashes or in carriers) or even a photo of your furry, scaly, or feathered friends. Join us as we give thanks for the animals who bring joy to our lives and celebrate the bond we share with all of God’s creation.
