April 19, 2024On the 80th General Convention
April 19, 2024Faithful volunteers, St. John’s Cathedral is scheduled to host Family Promise families July 24-31, 2022, remotely, which will be our new routine. As most of you know, this is a great opportunity to make a difference for families experiencing temporary homelessness.
Volunteer opportunities include:
Buying Groceries. Family Promise office provides a list of the groceries they need. Volunteers can buy items and drop them off at the Family Promise office, or volunteers may fund groceries that others can buy and deliver.
Providing an Evening Meal. Volunteers may prepare an evening meal, prepare part of an evening meal, deliver take-out to the families, or fund an evening meal. Volunteers may eat dinner with the families at Family Promise if they choose to. Meals are to be taken to the Family Promise office at 5:30.
Spending time with families in the evening or on the weekend. Volunteers can go to Family Promise to host a movie night, cookout, games, crafts . . . .other good ideas are welcome.
