The St. John’s Center for Wellbeing is glad to offer a new program for older adults in the parish. This is a four-part series that will meet once a week with sessions being offered this fall and in the spring of 2025.
The Path Ahead: Spirituality and Purpose in Later Life is a curriculum on the spirituality of aging that combines guided discussion with contemplative practices to reframe aging for persons of faith. The classes will cover important topics related to aging, such as how to grapple with ageism, identify changing spiritual needs, equip ourselves with new prayer practices, and engage in discernment about God’s continuing call.
This program rejects the stereotypical views of aging that define it in terms of a singular narrative of decline but instead reveals how this season of life can be a time of spiritual growth and pursuit of purpose. The class will engage in deep discussion, contemplative practices, and the arts. Further, the program will encourage connection, build community, and promote well-being. Please join us!
Lunch will be served in Taliaferro Hall from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
