WHAT IS LIGHT ON EVERY SCREEN?

Light on Every Screen is our Digital Ministry Match Campaign, made possible through the generosity of the Jessie Ball duPont Fund.

Your gift has multiplying power! The Jessie Ball duPont Fund will match 25% of all gifts up to $10,000.

Every contribution supports our Cathedral’s digital ministry — the sermons, prayers, and stories of hope that share God's love with people around the world.

WHY LIGHT ON EVERY SCREEN?

Church is no longer confined to buildings, calendars, or geography. Every prayer livestreamed, every sermon shared, and every moment of worship sent across a screen becomes a source of light for someone waiting, searching, or simply showing up.

Through our online ministry, God’s love is reaching people across continents — offering connection for those who feel isolated, discipleship for those longing to go deeper, and companionship for souls who need to know they aren’t praying alone.

On this page, we share Melly's story, a remarkable story of faith flourishing across oceans, nurtured over four years through weekly online community and shared morning prayer — spanning time zones and thousands of miles. It’s one of many stories that show the holy possibilities unlocked when the Church meets people where they are, consistently and with heart.

This digital ministry — online discipleship groups, livestream worship, video devotions, and personal prayerful connection — is sustained by generous supporters who believe that:

  • Faith can grow from far away

  • Community can be formed across screens

  • God’s light belongs in every place, including the digital world

  • No one should be without spiritual companionship because of distance or circumstance

When you give toward Light on Every Screen, you help sustain a ministry that prays across borders and accompanies people across miles. You make it possible for the Church to reach someone who might otherwise feel unseen, unheard, or alone.

Be part of what God is doing across every screen.

The Impact of Dean Kate’s Morning Devotions

When the pandemic began, Dean Kate Moorehead Carroll picked up her phone and began recording short morning devotions to bring hope in uncertain times.

She thought it might last a few months.

Six and a half years later, she’s still sharing God's love for YOU—every morning.

  • Nearly 800 people watch her morning devotion each day.

  • Her email list has more than tripled since the ministry began.

  • We continue to receive letters from viewers around the world—people who feel connected to God and to our Cathedral through these daily reflections.

What began as a simple act of faith has grown into a vibrant digital community of prayer, learning, and love.

Listeners Lives Are Touched

We live in the UK, and I was commissioned as an Evangelist in the Church of England 26 years ago. Over the last year, I have been unwell,…, this morning we both called to God and asked Why? Then we found your podcasts, answered prayer. Really, Holy meditations, thank you so much.
Thank you for these spiritual and peaceful devotions. I look forward to praying with you in the am. I am in NY, on Long Island.

Melly's Testimony

In 2020, while recovering from a severe brain injury, Melly found Dean Kate Moorehead Carroll’s morning devotions online. What began as a daily rhythm of prayer grew into online worship, sermons, and eventually four years of weekly discipleship in a small group — all across an 18-hour time difference. This fall, she traveled more than 8,000 miles to Jacksonville, Florida, to meet us in person and share her story on camera.

Her full journey — from 2020 to today — can be seen here:
