The Art of Church Flowers
September 30, 2025Jesus was a master storyteller. Again and again, he chose to teach through parables—short, vivid stories that drew on everyday life experiences.
Have you ever wondered why he did this? Why was storytelling so central in his urgent desire to touch and transform the lives of his brothers and sisters? What insights do those stories contain that can touch and transform our lives?
In this six-week series, we’ll discuss The Good Samaritan, The Prodigal Son, The Mustard Seed, and many other parables as we seek to discern just how Jesus might be reaching out to us in these “short stories and big truths.”
Clarence Jordan, founder of the Koinonia Farms community in Georgia, once wrote, “When Jesus delivered his parables, he lit a stick of dynamite and covered it with a story.” Each week, we’ll gather to see what “explosive insights” these stories hold for our own faith and daily living.
The class meets in the Cathedral Bookstore on Tuesday mornings at 7:30 a.m., September 23, 30, October 7, 14, 21, and 28. Coffee will be ready, the conversation will be lively, and we’ll wrap up within the hour—leaving you encouraged and energized for the day ahead.
Come as often as you can. No preparation is needed, just an open heart and mind.
Big truths await!
