Stories of Faith

We are thrilled to announce the launch of a new series of Dean’s Forums at St. John’s Episcopal Church, titled Stories of Faith. This series will feature heartfelt interviews with parishioners who have compelling stories of how they came to Jesus, highlighting the diverse journeys of faith within our community.

The inaugural episode will feature an interview with Steve Baxendale, whose journey to faith and service is both inspiring and transformative. Dean Kate will delve into Steve’s remarkable story, which began with a reluctant response to God’s call and evolved into a life dedicated to serving those in need.

From leaving a well-paying job to teaching at a Christian school in a poor inner-city neighborhood to leading educational and health initiatives across the Pacific, Steve’s journey is marked by a series of profound and courageous decisions guided by his faith.

After a long career of service, Steve found a spiritual home at St. John’s Episcopal Church, where he felt the Holy Spirit’s presence and a strong sense of belonging. His story is a testament to the power of faith and the extraordinary paths it can lead us down.

Join us for this first installment of Stories of Faith on Sunday, June 16 at 9 a.m. in Taliaferro Hall. This series promises to be a source of inspiration and a testament to the diverse ways in which God calls us to serve.
