Inviting the Third One

Dear Friends,

God is in the center of every relationship in our lives. But God, being love itself, waits for us to recognize the divine presence and to ask for help. Sometimes it takes us a very long time to recognize that we need that Third One.

Ponder with me your most cherished relationships. Are these relationships all that you hoped they would be? Can you ask for help, for an infusion of divine love and forgiveness, for insight and wisdom? God sees the human being in all of our fullness and loves us still. God has infinite patience and kindness. I know I could use some of that kindness myself at times.

Our world is consumed by broken relationships. In politics, we can hardly speak with one another. In church, we are divided along so many lines and that division continues. How can we look upon one another with compassion? How can we bridge difference to really solve the problems of this world? The only way is to invite in the Third One. I think we have proven that we cannot do this ourselves.

Let us pray this week for God to enter more fully into all our relationships, to bring fresh new perspective and to work miracles in our lives.
