Equipping One Another
April 22, 2024Inviting the Third One
April 22, 2024After a successful outing exploring Hogans Creek with Groundwork Jax in January, we are ready to explore a new section of the creek. Hogans Creek Part 2 will explore the creek’s headwaters and take place in the Springfield neighborhood.
The hike will begin at the Central Health Plaza Building located at 515 W. 6th St. in Historic Springfield. We will meet in the parking lot on the North side of the building that faces 8th Street and UF Health.
Please wear sturdy walking shoes and bring your own water bottle. We will walk about a one-and-a-half-mile loop, including the headwaters, the S-Line Rail Trail and Klutho Park. There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions.
Groundwork Jacksonville is the City of Jacksonville’s nonprofit partner in creating the 30-mile Emerald Trail and restoring Hogans and McCoys creeks.
The project’s goal is to reduce flooding, improve water quality, create habitat for fish and wildlife and provide nature-based recreation along the planned Emerald Trail.
The $5 suggested donation given when registering will be given to Groundwork Jacksonville to help fund these efforts.
