April 19, 2024NOTE: THE DISCUSSION SESSION FOR THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 29 WILL NOT BE HELD DUE TO HURRICANE IAN. JOIN US NEXT THURSDAY, OCTOBER 6.
Creationtide or the Season of Creation is the period in the church calendar, roughly from September through St. Francis Day in October, in which many churches celebrate God as Creator and Sustainer of all life. We give thanks for God’s creation gift and commit to caring for our one planet home. As described by the Anglican Communion Environmental Network, it is a time to pray and celebrate with creation, focus on the story of Earth, and commit to a ministry of healing Earth.
In connection with the Season of Creation, St. John’s Cathedral will host a series of discussion sessions led by Linda Privitera and Joe O’Shields, to be held via Zoom, starting on Thursday evening, September 15 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. There will be 6 discussions, each on Thursday evening, running until the final session on October 20.
