John Erstling
Stewardship & Development
I serve as President of INSPIRE Philanthropy, a fundraising consultancy dedicated to helping non-profits reach and exceed their philanthropic potential while fulfilling their important missions. I’m a progressive, creative, and results-driven leader with twenty years of experience directing comprehensive development programs and capital campaigns. Before founding INSPIRE, I provided executive fundraising leadership in the healthcare and education sectors at Baptist Health, Community Hospice & Palliative Care, Emory University, and The Bolles School.
On a personal note, I’m married to Annie, and we have two daughters, Grey (13) and Eve (10). When I’m not coaching Eve’s basketball team or supporting the girls in their many activities, I enjoy running, traveling, being on the water, and seeing what Annie and I can grow in our vegetable and flower garden. St. John’s Cathedral has been our church home for the past 14 years. From the enriching worship and the diverse congregation to the impactful community outreach programs, there is so much we love about St. John’s. As our children have grown older, I’ve had the opportunity to get more involved and serve the church in meaningful ways. I’ve been a member of the Parent Group and the Marketing and Communications Committee, and I currently serve on the Stewardship and Development Council.
