Calendars and Cards Wanted

This time of year, many of us are being overwhelmed with offers of “free” charity/non-profit calendars, greeting cards, wrapping paper, tote bags, blankets, etc. The Outreach Council has been organizing a drive to collect these unwanted items for the past seven years. They are passed on to people who truly appreciate these small tokens. If you are someone who does get these unsolicited items and has no use for them, please consider contributing to a decorated box at the Stage in Taliaferro. Be assured that these items will be channeled to groups (low-income and isolated seniors, economically challenged families with children) who will redistribute them. Many people look forward to being able to give a card to a loved one or getting a “gift”–even as small as a calendar—to use all year.

Feel free to drop off anything of this sort that you don’t want. Thanks for thinking of this form of “recycling” and caring for others as we come into this season of the year.
